atepost G T All about Gatepost....

The Company was formed by Kate & Jim Baker who have been involved with music direction and production for many years.

The Gatepost Theatre Company is an amateur theatre company specialising in drama, singing and dance.  Its members are aged from 15 upwards and new members are always most welcome.  The Group meet every Thursday evening at 7.30p.m. at the Loscoe Evergreen Centre, Loscoe, Derbyshire.

Kate Baker was once Head of Performing Arts at Heanor Gate School where she also taught music, and was renowned for her musical productions both at school and with many local operatic societies.  She was awarded an M.B.E. in November 2004 for her services to musical education.

Jim Baker also taught at Heanor Gate School and was later Deputy Head Master.  Jim is a keen guitarist and used to play regularly in two bands.  While at school he organised and played in end-of-term Christmas rock concerts.  Since the retirement of both Kate & Jim, they formed The Gatepost Theatre Company which is now going from strength to strength.
